Videographer - University Relations

Summary of Job Duties:

The Videographer is part of a creative team of visual and audio and event specialists charged with advancing the institution’s goals and objectives through communication support that includes video production for social media, web, and televised distribution, support of live promotional events and programs such as lectures, press conferences, and awards ceremonies. Events may be broadcast live or captured for playback or rebroadcast. 

Roles of the Videographer can include serving as director of photography, lighting director, and video editor. The Videographer can also be a project lead as a producer and director, requiring project organization, crew scheduling, and related tasks to create finished projects. This position must also be creatively and technically competent from ideation to postproduction of professional video including scripting, directing, shooting, mastering audio, editing and producing video projects aligned with the strategic purpose of each effort. 

The Videographer reports directly to the Managing Producer of Video Production as a part of the Marketing Communications team within University Relations. 

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in video production or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education 

At least two years of experience filming and editing video/audio 

At least two years of experience setting up lights and camera equipment 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

At least four years of experience filming and editing video/audio 

At least four years of experience setting up lights and camera equipment 

Demonstrated ability/experience to create animations for video 

Experience with live event video production 

Active Remote Pilot Certificate for Small UAS from the FAA

 

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Strong communications skills 

Ability to stay organized 

Ability to work in a team setting 

Ability to design and create complete video features and work with a variety of video, audio and graphic software 

Ability and experience with the Adobe suite of video editing software, as well as working knowledge of current video equipment 

Ability to be punctual and dependable  

Ability to provide and receive feedback in a professional and respectful manner

Salary Information:

$46,383 - $47,883
