Marketing & Communications Contractor

Title: Marketing & Communications Contractor

Position: Monthly Contractor

Type: Part-time

Location: 50% On-Site in NYC to capture contents, 50% Remote. Be present during company events

Availability: Must be available between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm ET on weekdays, Be present during company events

Supervision: Supervise NYC Interns

Compensation: $3,500 per month (Net 30 Monthly Pay Process)

 

About I'RAISE:

I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation, founded in 2012 in the North Bronx, began as a mentoring program for at-risk youth in NYC. Under the leadership of CEO Shanequa Moore, the organization has evolved into a powerful force for equity in mental health and youth empowerment. Today, I'RAISE delivers culturally responsive programs that foster resilience and well-being for children and families.

 

Position Summary:

The Marketing & Communications Contractor will develop and execute integrated campaigns to elevate I'RAISE's visibility and impact. This role combines expertise in public relations, branding, marketing strategy, and content creation to strengthen the organization’s public image locally, nationally, and globally. The ideal candidate will manage media relations, social media growth, event marketing, and CEO branding while overseeing a team of interns.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Marketing & Branding:
    • Develop and execute I'RAISE's brand strategy to ensure consistency across all channels.
    • Drive a 20-30% increase in brand awareness through targeted messaging and campaigns.
    • Oversee creative direction and content development for digital, print, and social platforms.
  • Public Relations & Media Relations:
    • Develop PR campaigns, including press releases, media kits, and outreach strategies.
    • Secure media placements to highlight I'RAISE's programs, events, and CEO leadership.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets.
  • Social Media & Content Management:
    • Create engaging content (blogs, videos, social media) that reflects I'RAISE’s mission.
    • Develop social media strategies to grow by 15-25% per quarter and increase engagement.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to produce multimedia content and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Event Marketing & Promotion:
    • Strategize and promote events to drive attendance and visibility.
    • Provide on-site content creation and PR coverage for events.
  • CEO Branding & Communications:
    • Manage PR strategies for the CEO’s media appearances and key speaking engagements.
    • Draft speeches, talking points, and content that amplify CEO visibility in education and mental health sectors.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
    • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance against KPIs, including brand reach, engagement, and ROI.
    • Provide actionable insights and monthly reports to leadership.
  • Internship Supervision:
    • Oversee 2-4 interns in PR, marketing, and communications, ensuring professional development and successful execution of projects.
  • Additional projects:
    • As assigned by the Executive Team. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in marketing, branding, and PR with proven measurable results.
  • Strong portfolio of campaigns, content creation, and media placements.
  • Expertise in social media strategy, event marketing, and crisis communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Canva, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with non-profits or community-based organizations is a plus.
