Environmental and Cultural Advocacy Intern For The JUNGLE JOURNAL

 

The Jungle Journal is seeking passionate and motivated interns to join our team as we embark on the second phase of this exciting and impactful project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife, preservation of indigenous cultures, and the celebration of Latin America’s ecological and cultural richness.

 

We are looking for students who:

  • Have a deep interest in Latin America and its diverse ecosystems and cultures.
  • Are passionate about wildlife conservation and sustainable practices.
  • Value the preservation and revitalization of indigenous cultures and languages across the region.
  • Are committed to educating the world about the interconnectedness of biodiversity, cultural heritage, and the natural world.


 

What You’ll Do

As an intern, you’ll play a hands-on role in advancing The Jungle Journal’s mission. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting research and writing projects on topics like conservation, indigenous rights, and environmental advocacy.
  • Assisting in creating engaging content for social media, newsletters, and events.
  • Helping organize educational initiatives, including school presentations and community outreach programs, interviews, and content creation.
  • Assist in the production and creation of paneled events where we bring topics of rainforest and cultural preservation to the public.
    • This will involve the organization of the event, panelist research, topic and question input
    • Possible attendance to most recent scheduled event in NYC
  • Collaborating on the planning and execution of events, such as panel discussions and workshops for professionals and/or schools


 

Who You Are

The ideal candidate is:

  • A student or recent graduate with a background in environmental studies, anthropology, Latin American studies, communications, or a related field.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Eager to collaborate on projects that make a global impact.
  • A strong communicator with excellent research and writing skills.
  • Passionate about raising awareness and advocating for change through education and storytelling.
