Growth & Strategy Intern - Winter/Spring 2025 - Sports Tech Startup

What We Do
At our core, we are an online marketplace connecting parents/kids with private sports coaches for in-person training. Think Airbnb or Rover, but for sports training. It’s our job to help private sports coaches grow, or start, their business by providing them with the technology & marketing needed to succeed.
What You’ll Do
As a Growth & Strategy Manager, you'll embody our mission of providing young athletes with better opportunities to succeed. A strong work ethic, humble approach, and willingness to be a team player are key qualities in a successful hire for our team. Please note that this opportunity is for a remote, part-time, unpaid internship role.
Responsibilities:
● Perform market research/due diligence, & prospect new coaches with creative, compelling and break-through-the noise tactics and strategies.
● Execute outreach and engagement with both parents & coaches
● Lead social media marketing department (I.e. strategy, asset/content creation,
community engagement, etc.)
● Support web development design efforts
● Participate in weekly strategic planning meetings with leadership team
● Help execute pilot program development and implementation
● Participate in calls with community members, company partners, etc.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be excited about working at a sports tech startup, building a two-sided marketplace, and learning to build effective growth campaigns. You should also have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Flexibility and coachability. We’re always fine-tuning our approach and we expect you to do the same.
Expected Start Date: January 2025. The exact start date is flexible to your scheduling constraints and preferences.
Expected Weekly Hours: 10-20 hours.
Expected Duration: This internship will extend through the end of Spring 2024. At that point, together we can evaluate if you would like to continue further with Athletes Untapped’s ongoing staffing needs.
