Make a powerful impact guiding students in learning and improving skills in an environment that lifts up voices that are typically marginalized in creative fields. The Amplify experience is based on campers choosing an immersive to learn each morning and afternoon in preparation for an exciting and fun end of session showcase full of original work created by the campers themselves. Elective workshops are offered twice each day. All instructors must have a strong ability to build curriculum and teach mixed beginner to advanced group and private classes in at least one of the above areas. Band coaches must be able to assist musical groups comprised of any combination of instruments write an original piece, develop skills needed to be a positive member of a group, and work with other instructors to help each camper find what success means to them and their band. The heartbeat of Amplify is immersive instruction culminating in a final showcase performance. Our staff are passionate about lifting up the voices and unique creative expression of youth. Immersive instructors design curriculum to help each camper build confidence, discover the power of teamwork, develop technical skills, and step into leadership roles. Amplify is special because we prioritize collaboration and mentorship over competition and tradition. Group and private instruction curriculum meets the ability and interest of each student regardless of skill or experience in a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
AT AMPLIFY, IMMERSIVE INSTRUCTORS HELP

RESPONSIBILITIES/DAILY TASKS
- Create and lead a challenging, interesting and age appropriate curriculum that centers around inclusivity of all skills, camper wellbeing, and having fun while learning
- Encourage youth to participate in what and how lessons are taught
- As a direct service mentor, supervision, safety and well-being of school age campers while maintaining a fun, engaging and inclusive environment are first priority
- Classroom setup/takedown and initial/closing inventory
- Load in/out of storage at start/end of camp season
- Showcase setup, run-through, and takedown
- Opening day shifts may include greeting parents and campers, campus tours, dorm move in, and hosting get to know you activities as campers arrive
- Act as a positive role model while on and off the clock and campus
- Collaborate with other instructors and counselors to provide campers with excellent resources in music education, creation and performance pieces
- Be prepared and on time for each class
- Adherence to safety protocols and utilize common sense
- Work with Health and Wellness team to better serve campers with special needs
- Involve campers in daily care and inventory of all classroom gear
- Assist in covering for other staff who are unable to work
- Attend staff meetings
- Attend and supervise campers as needed on off campus trips
- Ensure campers are following their schedules, abiding by the code of conduct and community agreements, and connect campers with heath and wellness team, the AM lead, or assistant director as needed
- Complete paperwork in a timely fashion
- Follow all protocols outlined in the staff handbook and during pre camp orientation including emergency procedures and drills
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in an immersive or elective field as an instructor or creator of original work
- this is a sleep away camp and most positions require live in staff, but there might be flexibility in sleeping off campus.
- this position is seasonal and operates from June 14th- August 5th , part of summer positions available
- Ability to successfully manage and engage with large groups of youth in grades 4-12 of various skill levels
- Music production instructors must have intermediate+ skill and teaching ability in Ableton, Launchpad, and Push
- Instrument instructor/band coaches must have the ability to safely maintain, operate, and roadie full classroom and band practice setups including PA, amps, drum sets, and a variety of instruments
- Photography instructors must be proficient with digital cameras, lighting and backgrounds, Mac computers, Lightroom and other editing software
- Previous experience with youth instruction, leadership, mentorship, communication, and conflict/resolution a bonus

Pay: $575.00 - $750.00 per week
