REMOTE Journalist Internship

Learning Application: The Journalist Internship at Sports Media, Inc. is designed to provide hands-on experience in journalism, with a focus on writing for newsletters, blogs, sports media news networks, publishing and marketing materials. Interns will work closely with seasoned journalists and content creators, gaining practical insights into the fast-paced and exciting world of sports media.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Contribute to the creation of compelling and informative content for newsletters, blogs, and marketing materials.
  • Develop engaging narratives that capture the essence of sports events, athletes, and industry trends.

Sports Media News Network:

  • Assist in researching and writing news articles for the sports media news network.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest sports news and trends to inform content creation.

Marketing Copy:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to write copy for promotional materials, advertisements, and social media campaigns.
  • Ensure brand consistency in all written materials.

Interviews and Features:

  • Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and industry experts for feature articles.
  • Collaborate with the content team to develop in-depth and insightful features.

Internship Program:

  • Engage in the company's internship program, participating in learning and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with peers and professionals to enhance journalistic skills.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be available to attend meetings on Mondays at 9:00 AM, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM, and Fridays at 8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time.
  • If in the Skill Bridge program, must attend an additional meeting on Thursdays at 9:00 AM Mountain Standard Time
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • Passion for sports and a keen interest in sports journalism.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a commitment to excellence.
  • Basic knowledge of content creation tools and platforms.
