About the Role:
We’re launching a UI/Visual Design Fellowship for creative minds ready to do real, impactful work. This is a 3-6 month paid fellowship (Remote or California) where you'll work directly with our UI/UX team of two to create visual designs for TruU's products.
It’s not "practice work." It’s real design that ships. Your work will help shape the login and authentication experience for employees at some of the largest companies in the world.
We’re also hosting a Design Challenge to kick things off: Redesign a QR Code Sign-In Screen. We’ve attached a clunky screen that users are supposed to be able to interpret easily and act on quickly. This screen needs to be clean, modern, and adaptable across mobile, desktop, and kiosk use cases. Win this challenge, and you’ll earn $1,000 cash — and the chance to join the fellowship.
At the end of the fellowship, if we’re a good match, there’s potential to transition to a full-time role.
What You’ll Do:
- Design at scale: Create high-quality, polished designs for web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Shape our product’s look and feel: Bring modern, intuitive design to screens across our security products.
- Collaborate with our design team: Work closely with a tight-knit team of product managers, developers, and other designers.
- Build reusable design components: Help establish and maintain design systems and UI libraries.
- Iterate fast and improve: Use user feedback and data to make designs better with every round.
Who You Are:
We’re looking for fresh perspectives and hungry designers. You could be a student, a self-taught designer, or someone who’s been doing it for years. Degrees don’t matter here — your portfolio does.
We’re not just looking for “pretty”. We’re looking for functional, thoughtful, and modern design. If you’re obsessed with clean UI and want to work on something seen at scale, this role is for you.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong skills in UI design, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to design for web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
- Preferred but not required expertise with design tools like Figma.
- Comfortable working in an iterative, feedback-driven environment.
- A love for creating visually pleasing and functional designs.
