REMOTE Publicist Internship

Sports Media, Inc. is a pioneering sports media company dedicated to bringing the excitement and passion of sports to audiences globally. We are thrilled to offer an internship opportunity within our Public Relations department. This internship provides a unique learning experience in sports public relations, media relations, and communications.

Learning Application: The Publicist Internship at Sports Media, Inc. is designed to provide hands-on experience in crafting and implementing strategic public relations campaigns within the sports media industry. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced public relations professionals, gaining valuable insights into the fast-paced world of sports communications.

Responsibilities:

Media Relations:

  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with media representatives, journalists, and influencers.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.

Event Publicity:

  • Support the planning and execution of publicity strategies for sports events, product launches, and media tours.
  • Coordinate media attendance and coverage for events.

Content Creation:

  • Contribute to the creation of engaging and informative content for press materials, newsletters, and social media.
  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure consistent messaging across platforms.

Crisis Communication:

  • Assist in developing crisis communication plans and protocols.
  • Support the team in addressing and managing communication challenges as they arise.

Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Monitor media coverage and compile media reports.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of public relations efforts.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be available to attend meetings on Mondays at 9:00 AM, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM, and Fridays at 8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time.
  • If in the Skill Bridge program, must attend an additional meeting on Thursdays at 9:00 AM Mountain Standard Time
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of media relations and public relations principles.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in public relations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a passion for sports.
