Position: Medical Facility Receptionist

Job Summary & Requirements:

  • $16-$18/hr. based on experience
  • Full-time position

This position reports to the Hospital CEO and provides reception activities, communication and customer service support using verbal, written and electronic techniques to maintain fluid and efficient communicational operations throughout the hospital.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Clerical/Secretarial experience
  • Medical terminology preferred

Key Responsibilities/Job Accountabilities include:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and directs appropriately
  • Answers all doors [entrance/exits] either via doorbell or physical after screening visitor/drop off company
  • Screen visitors by ensuring all cell phones and contraband are removed
  • Receives Discharge packets from units and (in accordance with facility policy) delivers to appropriate department
  • Collaboratively works with Central Intake regarding patient admission packet to respective unit
  • Assures patient labels of new admissions are routed to Dietary
  • Approachable and maintains a smile with welcoming persona
  • Promotes a compassionate environment when communicating with patients and families
  • Adheres to infection-control and safety policies and protocols

Additional Skills/Qualifications include:

  • Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task, sometimes in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
