Position Description

Sprezzatura seeks an organized, detail-oriented Proposal Writer to join our expanding growth team. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, creative writing skills, organizational aptitude, and strong interpersonal abilities to develop compelling and compliant content for federal IT government contracting opportunities.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality content for proposal responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Task Orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), and Sources Sought Notices.
- Analyze solicitation documents to ensure a complete understanding of requirements and compliance.
- Use templates and proposal-writing standards to ensure consistency, readability, and tone across all deliverables.
- Create proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal schedules.
- Provide direction to leadership and cross-functional teams assigned to work on proposal efforts.
- Develop or assist in developing compelling themes, discriminators, and messaging.
- Interview and collaborate with solutions architects, project managers, subject matter experts, and executive leadership to capture key concepts and ideas into a narrative while maintaining consistency in messaging and strategy.
- Write and edit technical, management, and past performance sections, tailoring content to federal government audiences.
- Ensure that the win strategy, technical solution, win themes, discriminators, compliance, and clear understanding of the requirements are well-articulated and consistent.
- Coordinate with graphic designers, pricing analysts, and compliance teams to create visually appealing and compliant proposals.
- Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Proposal Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
- Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approaches, coordination.
- Add all new proposal content to the proposal support database for potential re-use.
- Communicate and influence at a senior level with strong written English language skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, journalism, communications, English, or a related field.
- 2-5 years related work experience in the Federal Government contracting industry in a Proposal Writer role.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work on multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Critical thinking and adaptability to address changing priorities or requirements.
- Understanding of and experience with Federal Government procurement practices, including a basic knowledge of FAR requirements and standard Federal Government solicitation organization.
- Entire MS Office experience with Office 365 and SharePoint is a bonus but not required.
