ALSAC’s Internship Program offers an immersive experience where interns dive into our culture, contribute to organizational goals through meaningful projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. Over the course of 10 weeks, interns are paired with a day-to-day manager and given significant assignments, gaining a true understanding of what it means to be part of ALSAC/St. Jude. ALSAC Summer Intern Innovation Project: Throughout the internship, interns will connect with innovators across ALSAC, learning the art of Design Thinking. Working in teams, they will engage in creative sessions and prepare to present their projects to ALSAC’s CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

End Date: August 8, 2025
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: $14/hour

Requirements:
A passion for our mission!
Must be undergraduate, graduate, or graduation as of Spring 2025.
Comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Active participation in the Summer Intern Innovation Project through cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills
The Las Vegas field office for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a motivated summer intern to assist with our experiential fundraising efforts. This role will focus on supporting three major projects: Viva St. Jude, the Las Vegas St. Jude Walk/Run, and the Las Vegas St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway campaign. Viva St. Jude is a multi-day event where the intern will help staff lead a committee to achieve revenue goals, as well as securing auction items and creating memorable mission moments. The St. Jude Walk/Run is a community peer-to-peer fundraising walk. Staff recruit and coach participants, sponsors and volunteers. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is a charitable lottery where tickets are purchased for the chance to win a house. Staff secure the construction of the house at low cost while marketing ticket sales to the public. Minority and diverse candidates, particularly Spanish bilingual candidates, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Assist in the creation and preparation of fundraising events.
Support staff in achieving revenue goals including sponsorship and donations.
Help secure auction items and create engaging event experiences.
Recruit and secure logistics/activations as well as communicate and coach teams and volunteers for the St. Jude Walk/Run.
Assist in marketing and volunteer recruitment for the Dream Home Giveaway projects.
Create a social media plan to help with the promotion of above events
Projects include:
Viva St. Jude: Assist with the solicitation of sponsorships, pre-committed Give to Live donations, soliciting table sales, auction items and building out a social media plan to promote the event. Attend committee meetings either in person or via Zoom. Reach out to previous sponsors, Give to Live donors and auction donors to share event details and to encourage renewal of their support. Work closely with the lead staff in charge of the event to ensure that Viva St. Jude is on track to meet or exceed its revenue goals.
St. Jude Walk/Run: Assist in the recruitment of St. Jude Walk/Run activations, participants and volunteers. Attend committee meetings either in person or via Zoom. Call past and current participants to keep them up to date on the latest incentives and event announcements. Work closely with the lead staff in charge of the event to ensure that the St. Jude Walk/Run meets or exceeds its revenue goals.
St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway: Assist with St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway event logistics. Work closely with the lead staff in charge of the event to help secure volunteers needed and marketing assist for the campaign. Help to advertise the St. Jude Dream Home. Order food and supplies for meetings and events. Manage/recruit sellathon and open house volunteers if necessary.
Administrative Tasks: Make phone calls to donors. Engage in online research. Write cards to donors. Assist with event setup and takedown if necessary. Manage inventory of supplies.
Preferred Skills: Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point
Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently
Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously
Great to be familiar with social media
Comfortable with interacting with adults at different professional levels and engaging with volunteers and committee members
