ABOUT YOU
As the SLPI Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with Human Resources on ensuring employees with SLPI requirements are provided the resources and appropriate SLPI assessments per job requirements. You will plan and do American Sign Language (ASL) instruction for AIDB employees that are working towards their SLPI requirements. You will work with AIDB employees that need to improve their SLPI scores and work with the SLPI rating team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, American Sign Language (ASL) studies and instruction, Interpreting or any related fields.
- Provide documentation of experience with some type of ASL assessments.
- Must possess a Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) of ADVANCED PLUS according to the AIDB SLPI evaluation upon hire.
- Must provide documentation of sign language proficiency evaluation (SCPI available through AIDB).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in related fields.
- SLPI score of SUPERIOR.
- SLPI Certified Rater
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must obtain a SLPI score of Superior within thirty-six months upon hire date.
- Must obtain a SLPI Rater Certificate within six months upon hire date.
- Work collaboratively with Human Resources to ensure employees with SLPI requirements have access to SLPI assessments and resources.
- Coordinate scheduling of SLPI with AIDB employees to ensure they will get the results in a timely manner.
- Provide employee’s SLPI outcomes to the employees and Human Resources in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and schedule ASL classes for AIDB employees (statewide) that need to complete their SLPI requirements.
- Do ASL Instructions for AIDB employees that need ASL support and to meet SLPI requirements.
- Develop lessons in ASL instruction that aligns with SLPI levels for AIDB employees.
- .Coordinate and communicate with the team of SLPI Raters on completing the ratings in a timely manner.
- Must participate in professional development opportunities related to an understanding of vision, hearing, and dual sensory loss along with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Must be willing to attend ongoing professional development, attend workshops, conferences and other staff development activities.
- Complete AIDB online training on Deafness, Low Vision, DeafBlindness, and Multiple Disabilities within 12 months of hire.
- Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB."

SALARY $62,142.00 - $82,893.00 Scale PI Rank 56
Direct deposit is required.
This is an exempt position, not subject to overtime or compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
