Fused Glass Art Teacher

Overview:
North Shore Glass School is a public-access glass art studio located in Salem, MA. We teach classes in the fine arts of glassblowing, sandblasting, stained glass, flameworking/lampworking and fused glass. We are looking for a motivated artistic individual to join our team as a fused glass art teacher. We understand that glass is a unique and under-taught artistic medium, as such, we are happy to teach, train and support any potential applicants so they are successful in this role. The most important thing is that you have a strong background in art, a fine creative eye and are good with people / able to teach an art class. Our classes run mostly on weekends, weeknights and the summer so this job is perfect for a full or part-time student.
Responsibilities:
Teach fused glass art classes to students in our studio in Salem, MA throughout the year
Teach our kids’ summer program (late June-early September 2025)
Teach classes throughout the North Shore of MA as part of our mobile program
Set up studio and materials before art classes
Clean up and organize studio after classes
Enthusiastically engage with clients
Help brainstorm new class ideas
Help create glass art class curriculum

Qualifications
Strong background in the fine arts with high attention to detail in design
Ability to confidently, clearly and correctly teach art
Robust people skills
Clear communication skills
Ability to work with students of all ages (6 years old to 99+)
Currently or previously enrolled in a higher education art program
