Development Associate-Hybrid

Salary Range: $42,630-$45,675 annually

Hybrid Schedule: 2 days from home and 3 days on-site

United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a Development Associate to join our team. As Development Associate you will collaborate closely with the fundraising team to create and implement an annual donor relations plan for their limited portfolio, ensuring that our engagement with donors is meaningful and impactful. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess strong communication skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a limited Account Portfolio to include goal setting, donor stewardship and cultivation, individual solicitations.
  • Responsible for developing campaign and donor communications.
  • Employee Giving Campaign Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with fundraisers to develop and execute the process that consists of but not limited to campaign strategizing, volunteer recruitment, training, and management; individual and group solicitation; individual and account cultivation, management and customer service; active promotion of corporate giving, individual giving, Leadership giving, planned to give, volunteerism, United Way Signature Event Fundraising, Community Connections, and labor participation.

Donor Management:

  • Oversee donor relations efforts, building and maintaining relationships with the United Way’s donors.
  • Utilize Andar software to track donor engagement and activities effectively.

Data Management:

  • Strategically implement reports into the fundraising approach, utilization of United Way’s customer relationship management tool, Andar, maintain data quality and integrity.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support related to donor relations, including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings, and conducting research as needed.

Donor Communication:

  • Respond promptly to donor inquiries via phone and email

Requirements

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations.

Experience Requirements: Two to three years in nonprofit, donor relations/fundraising experience.

Technology Requirements: Experience with donor management software (e.g., Andar) is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools including modern web browser.

Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Contacts: Internal. Communicate with all levels of the organization to exchange information, collect information, solve problems, negotiate solutions and cultivate relationships. External. Communicate with volunteers, donors/contributors, general public, vendors, and United Way agencies to exchange information, collect information, solve problems, negotiate solutions and cultivate relationships.
