Full-Time Montessori Teacher
Position Overview:
Children’s House looking to hire positive and reliable individuals who have a love of teaching and are adaptable, caring, and team-oriented. Montessori experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, prepare, and implement engaging Montessori lessons and activities.
- Observe and assess individual student development and progress, tailoring instruction to meet each child’s needs.
- Prepare and maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative atmosphere that supports social and emotional growth.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, providing updates on student progress and classroom activities, including parent-teacher conferences and weekly newsletters.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or support staff as needed.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community-building activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- 2+ of teaching experience in a Montessori environment.
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and methodology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their developmental journey
Preferred Qualifications:
- Montessori certification from a AMS-accredited program
Children's House of Columbia has been a Montessori school serving the Columbia community for the past 40 years. We have a student population of about 80 children, ages 2-6 years old and affiliated with AMS.
We also provide the possibility to pursue further education through Montessori training to become Montessori certified.
