Director of Internal Audit

Internal Audit – Virginia Beach, VA

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking a Director of Internal Audit to lead its internal audit team. This experienced professional will direct the internal auditing function for CBN and its affiliated entities, according to the Internal Audit Charter adopted by the Board of Directors. This key role will assist members of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities. 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• 8+ years of audit leadership experience in a public firm or private industry internal audit department.  Non-profit and international audit experience is highly desirable. 
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA and CIA required.
• Extensive working knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and internal auditing practices.
• Working knowledge of accepted business operations and internal control considerations.
• Experience assessing and creating operational audits for wide variety of business processes.
• Experience managing, training, and motivating a small team.
• Strong business acumen with knowledge of financial systems.
• Excellent research and analytical skills with ability to identify and communicate value-added observations.  
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-related software.
• Ability to manage and administer a budget.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to oversee projects with excellent time management skills.
• Strong diplomacy skills with effective ability to work with all levels of management. 
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and be an effective team member.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to travel to international affiliates.
