TITLE: Human Resources Intern

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

MANAGER: Senior Human Resources Manager

DESIRED START DATE: January 16 – May 2, 2025

APPROXIMATE HOURS PER WEEK: Up to 20 hours per week

LOCATION: In-Person (Arlington, VA). Remote candidates will not be considered.

RATE: $20 hour

Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resource Intern to join our dynamic HR team at Blumont. The ideal candidate will assist the Senior Human Resource Manager, Assistant Vice President of HR, and Administrative Business Partner with daily tasks across various HR functions. This internship offers a comprehensive experience in HR operations, recruitment, learning and development, DEI, and administrative support, providing valuable insights into the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Operations:

  • Assist with onboarding new hires, including scheduling and creating new hire profiles.
  • Schedule recruitment interviews and follow up with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Shadow recruitment calls and learn the recruitment lifecycle from sourcing candidates to making offers.
  • Assist with pulling data and reports for audits.
  • Verify I-9 documentation and employment status within Blumont.
  • Reach out to verify candidate references.
  • Support in maintaining accurate foundational data in SuccessFactors (HRIS).
  • Attend Global Human Resources meetings to gain insights into HR strategies and practices.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with end-of-month closing tasks, including scanning and filing HR documents.
  • Organize and maintain the HR file closet and personnel records.
  • Help plan and office events and celebrations.
  • Restock office supplies and manage inventory.
  • Participate in weekly HR team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and initiatives.

Event Coordination:

  • Assist in setting up and breaking down HR and wellness events.
  • Coordinate with vendors for various HR-related activities and services.
  • Utilize design skills with tools like Canva to create visually appealing marketing materials for HR initiatives and events.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled college student (sophomore status or higher) or recent graduate (within the last six months).
  • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week for a minimum of 8 weeks.
  • Commitment to adhering to all Blumont employment policies.
  • Must live in a commutable distance of the office in Arlington, VA and be willing to come to the office Tuesday – Thursday.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with design tools like Canva
  • Excellent organizational skills and proactive initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
