Sales Associate - Architectural Walls

The Sales Associate position is a training program that prepares you for a lucrative full-time sales position at Storr. You will assist the architectural walls sales team in their daily activities, handle incidental/small sales opportunities, and develop the knowledge/skills necessary to be a successful account manager. The position needs to focus on learning architectural products such as modular walls, modular power, access flooring, and sound masking, as well as Storr's product and service offering, how work gets done at Storr, and effective selling skills. In this position, you will demonstrate initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through, while communicating with the sales team and customers. You must be strongly interested in transitioning from the Sales Associate program to a Sales Executive within our Architectural Walls division within 10-18 months.

Primary Duties

  • Assist the Sales team in their daily activities.
  • Meet with walk-in/call-in prospects. Learn about their needs. Identify the product/ service solution and prepare a quotation. This applies to opportunities <$10,000. Larger opportunities are forwarded to an account manager.
  • Develop knowledge of the products and services that Storr markets.
  • Develop the selling skills necessary to be an effective account manager.
  • Complete assigned training goals.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the internal systems and processes at Storr.
  • Achieve quarterly sales goal and activities.
  • Achieve targeted customer survey scores and accuracy goals.
  • Meet with walk-in/call-in customers, listen and ask questions to determine their needs to position the proper solution
  • Create quotes for walk-ins/call-in customers and follow up on outstanding quotes regularly.
  • Input selling activity into the CRM
  • Coordinate the order fulfillment on orders booked under your name
  • Product research and selection

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading AutoCAD drawings.
  • Ability to manage relationships with customers, general contractors, and key influencers
  • Ability to deliver knowledge-based expertise and consulting that adds value, and separates Storr
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated creative ability and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable with budget discussions, construction processes, contracts, margins, etc.
  • Enjoys client interaction and can engage in a "sales" discussion.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a high-energy, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
