Roadway Design Project Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design transportation projects from concept through construction, complete required computations, produce construction plans, concept layouts, and write technical reports
- Be knowledgeable in utilizing the many transportation design resources required including AASHTO, GDOT, FHWA, and local guidelines, processes, policies, and procedures
- Develop cost estimates, specifications, and bid documents as required for each project assigned
- Be able to plan and follow through on work assignments within the timeframes allocated to meet the project budget and schedule
- Complete field work as needed including erosion inspections, construction inspections, field plan reviews, site visits and on-site meetings with clients and property owners, as required
- Assist in proposal preparation
- Coordinate and communicate with PDP staff, clients, the public, and subconsultants, as required

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- 0-4 years of related experience in roadway design and engineering
- Engineer in Training, EIT, is preferred; Professional Engineer, PE in Georgia is a plus
- Knowledge and competency in transportation-related policies and procedures
- Experience in Bentley InRoads or OpenRoads as well as Microsoft Office products is preferred.
- Able to efficiently work from home full time with occasional need to conduct site visits, meetings with clients, attend public meetings, and participate in employee functions
