Summer Internship - Planning

Paid internship or co-op opportunity in our Planning department.  The Planning Intern will assist our Planning department with various tasks and projects, such as:
 

  1. Conducting land use planning (comprehensive and future) in collaboration with municipalities in the BJWSA service area.
  2. Supporting the development and zoning review process for land development permits.
  3. Assisting with field data collection and mapping of utility assets using GIS applications.
  4. Attending public meetings, hearings, and community open houses in order to monitor policy development related to land use, zoning, and comprehensive planning that impacts the utility.
  5. Learning spatial analysis, design, and graphic communication using GIS to Adobe program workflows.

Open to students currently pursuing a degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Development or a related field from an accredited college or university.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
