Theater Arts Education Intern
About Us: The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood is a vibrant center for arts and culture in South Florida. Our main building, the historic Kagey Mansion, has two galleries and a studio for online learning. We also run the Arts School and the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center (HCPAC), a 500-seat fully operating theatre. We offer a variety of art programs and events for people of all ages and backgrounds.
About the Role: As an intern, you will support the Theater Arts Education department as we engage the community through after school programs for children, skill building workshops and public performances in the HCPAC.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Supporting during rehearsals, in-class performing arts classes, and at performances during the day, evenings and on weekends.
- Production support such as set design, tech, costume creation, and prop management for performances.
- Contribute ideas for lesson plans and activities focusing on inclusivity and engagement.
- Offering guidance and support to students.
- Assisting in gathering and analyzing feedback from participants.
Ideal candidates will have experience:
- Performing in musical theatre productions, whether as an actor, director, stage manager, or technician.
- Organizing events or performances, including managing logistics and schedules.
- Teaching or mentoring in arts education and effectively engaging students.
- Expressing ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Bringing a creative mindset when collaborating with teaching artists and fellow interns to create a dynamic learning environment.
