Manufacturing Operations Internship

JOB OPENING:  Manufacturing Operations Internship (Ingredients Factory)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are looking for a highly self-motivated person who is proactive, detail oriented, organized, data driven, and able to work with multiple teams and departments.  This person must have the ability to multi-task and should be comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment on the production floor and not just in office environment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Analyzes production operation utilizing data for all key metrics (labor, waste, safety, quality, efficiency) and makes suggestions for improvement, tests and implement the necessary improvements, including hands on operation with the team
• Work with all stakeholders to improve safety, quality, and efficiency of operations.
• Document project work in biweekly formal reports and present findings/recommendations to management.  Prepare final overall presentation summarizing accomplishments at conclusion of internship.
• Develop documentation such as, Operator Training Documents, Information boards (to track results), Work Instructions, spreadsheet and charts to track costs
• Supports manufacturing issues and cost improvement projects as assigned
• All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Full-time student enrolled in a four-year college or university with a major in business or applicable technical field.
• Strong communicator (oral and written) with strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills, and demonstrated leadership initiative.
• Must have ability to prioritize projects based on potential impact and to organize assignments and tasks in a logical and productive manner.
• Computer skills required include Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to withstand periods of walking, standing, exposure to loud noises, and moving mechanical parts.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. full-time and without restriction during the internship.
