Federal Summer Intern - Business/Accounting

Federal Student Intern (PAID)

 

Summer 2025, 10-Week Program

(this is a Civilian position supporting a Federal Agency within the Department of Defense)

The Diversity Intern Program, in partnership with the United States Army Minority College Relations Program, is seeking enthusiastic and driven interns for business, accounting, and finance roles. This unique internship provides college students with the opportunity to gain professional experience within the U.S. Army without the obligation of enlisting. Interns will work alongside Army commands and personnel, gaining exposure to the business, administrative, and operational aspects of the Army's strategic initiatives.

Program Highlights:

  • Location: Various Army commands across the U.S.
  • Duration: Summer internship
  • Eligibility: Open to current college students from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented minorities
  • Compensation: Competitive stipend or academic credit (where applicable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting tasks to support Army operations.
  • Contribute to business strategy projects, process improvements, and administrative functions.
  • Work closely with Army leadership to gain insights into strategic planning, resource management, and decision-making processes.
  • Analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to support the Army's operational and financial goals.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to develop leadership and professional skills.
  • Support project management efforts, ensuring timely completion of tasks aligned with Army objectives.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration, providing diverse perspectives to enhance Army initiatives.

Compensation to You:

Intern awardees will be paid a $540.00 weekly stipend ($5,400.00 total internship).

Eligibility Requirements:

The ideal candidate shall be a student of at least

  • Junior or Senior class standing in undergraduate school, or
  • A Graduate student who is currently enrolled or has graduated within the six months prior to the start of the period of performance.
  • Each candidate shall possess at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Individual shall be enrolled in a Minority Serving Institution such as a:

  • Historically Black College or University (HBCU),
  • Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), or
  • Tribal College (TC)

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a Background Investigation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Job Type: Internship

Pay: $540.00 per week

 

Must be able to relocate for the summer to Rock Island, Illinois
