Payroll Coordinator

We are looking for a talented, motivated individual to join our company as a Full-Time Payroll Coordinator. As a member of our payroll and accounting team, you will organize, analyze, and maintain payroll records. This is a detail-oriented position that is vital to our daily operations. Our ideal candidate has at least an associate degree in accounting, or is working to obtain a degree in a Human Resources related field. This position will also require the candidate to have excellent communication, organizational, and math skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales volume, bonuses and commissions, monies to be withheld for taxes, employee contributions to insurance and retirement plans, etc., from time sheets and other records.
  • Update master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, etc., and data concerning compensation increases, promotions, and/or transfer of employees between departments.
  • Compute wages and deductions, reviews for accuracy, and posts to payroll records.
  • Prepares and issues paychecks.
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions.
  • Maintains garnishment files and remits payments.
  • Answers verification of employment inquiries by phone and mail.
  • Reconciles employee account receivables.
  • Fills in for other administrative positions as needed and directed by management.
  • Assists with related special projects as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate degree or working toward Bachelors degree in accounting or Human Resources relevant field
  • Strong proficiency with standard payroll processing software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
