Climate Justice Organizer

Organizational Overview:
The Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow the connection, capacity, and consciousness of communities to strengthen pro-immigrant power in Florida.
Job Description
FLIC’s Climate Justice Program works to ensure that practices and policies in Florida address climate-related challenges in equitable ways. The program consists of climate-centered issue advocacy work and movement-building efforts across the state. The Climate Justice Organizer works with statewide Climate Justice Committees, implementing the Climate Justice program plan, and growing the reach of the Climate program.
Primary Responsibilities
● Movement Building - Participate in Climate Committees and maintain relationships with
FLIC partners to co-create and implement programs that advance climate justice
● Base Building - Engage individuals and organizations in FLIC’s Climate Justice Program,
building a base of supporters actively involved and invested in advancing the Program’s
goals
● Program Implementation
○ Issue Advocacy - Support pro-climate and pro-immigrant issue advocacy
primarily at, but not limited to, local and state levels.
○ Community Hubs - Support the design and implementation of community hubs
that can co-lead climate justice programming at the local level.
Organizational Responsibilities
● Develop, implement, and monitor the progress of climate justice campaigns and
programs
● Collaborate with team members to ensure that the climate justice program is in
alignment with and integrated into other FLIC programs
● Actively participate in FLIC-wide events online and in person
● Foster an environment that promotes trust and cooperation amongst FLIC staff,
community members, and affiliate organizations
● Must be available to work with a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings, and
be able to travel locally and statewide
Qualifications and Experiences
● Minimum 3 years of experience running issue campaigns & building coalitions preferred
● Applicant must share a strong commitment to FLIC’s mission & be able to draw others
into the climate and immigrants’ rights movement
● Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders
● Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and to prioritize tasks accordingly
● Ability to work flexible hours to respond to position needs
● Proficiency in Google Suite and Every Action or similar software is required
● Ability to facilitate meetings in-person and online
●Language proficiency in English is required, additional language proficiency is preferred.

Salary Range: $51,000 to $57,000 (Salary commensurate with experience)
