Art Factory Intern

Art Factory Internships 

Art Factory is a regional hub for arts, entertainment, and hospitality, a city-within-a-city in the historic district of Paterson, NJ, 12 miles from the GWB and directly down Valley Road from Montclair. Our campus consists of 21 buildings with multiple floors over 5 acres, attached to the Great Falls National Park.

We are an event venue, film/photo location and small business incubator with 72 private studios, in-house restaurant and wood/metal set design workshops.

We are offering paid $15/hr internships to students who are studying or have graduated in the fields of hospitality, set design, film, graphic design, art, web design, SEO and marketing. Our goal is to provide a path for our interns to grow into full-blown managerial positions.

Hospitality: We are a major event venue first and foremost. Interns in hospitality, art, set design will gain tremendous experience here. As an event venue we are extraordinary. We provide our clients with 24-hr access on the day of their event starting with hair and makeup suites as early in the morning they’d like to arrive. We use a planning app called Basecamp to communicate with our clients prior to their event, taking their inspiration and turning it into their movie-set wedding. We provide the planning, props, tables, chairs, decor, setup and cleanup. Interns will be expected to be immersed in the planning process on the app, zooms with clients, in-person meetings with clients, documentation, creating plans, creating tablescapes, schedules and planning decks. Coordinating and participating in the setup for each event day-of, greeting brides and grooms as they arrive, escorting them to their suites and attending to their needs throughout the day. Then, greeting and guiding guests, assisting with rehearsals and day-of ceremonies, coordinating vendors and follow-up with our clients for positive reviews.

Film/photo: As a major film location we host multiple shoots per week from music videos to feature films (Spielberg and Scorsese shot here). Interns will be involved as assistant location managers.

Special events and promotions: Starting in January we will be having a regular calendar of public events to be initiated, planned, organized and executed by our interns such as art shows, wedding expos, mini jazz concerts, food festivals and general public events in concert with our neighbors and the national park. This will be great for art and hospitality interns.
