Part-Time Events Staff

Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Event Staff. As part of the event staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of various events, providing exceptional guest services, and creating memorable experiences for all attendees.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Set up tables, chairs, podiums and attend to physical arrangement of the site with assistance from buildings and grounds staff
  • Supervise client’s decoration set-ups and breakdowns to ensure no damage to buildings or grounds.
  • Perform some custodial duties in service of events. Not limited to bathroom checks, Clean-up site during and after events, including trash removal.
  • Provide direction to caterers as needed with equipment and storage
  • Perform basic A/V set up, break-down and troubleshooting
  • Greet and assist hosts and guests of event in addition to usual duties, when needed
  • Track and record event attendance
  • Secure DHS facilities after events, including turning off lights, locking doors and arming security system
  • Report maintenance concerns or repairs to Buildings and Grounds staff
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Flexible schedule necessary; requires weekday, evening, morning, and weekend availability
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is required to learn procedures to be taken in medical, fire, or other emergency including means of contacting ambulance, fire, and police departments (a document will be provided) The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • All employees should present themselves in a clean, neat, and professional manner. Proper attire and decorum required.
