Campus Organizing Fellow

Campus Organizing Fellow (Multiple Positions), Yes on 4


 

Background: Yes on 4 is a statewide campaign of allied organizations and concerned citizens working together to protect Floridians’ access to reproductive health care and defend the right to bodily autonomy. 


 

This campaign is focused on winning Amendment 4, the campaign to remove politicians from private medical decisions around abortion. From March to November 2024, the campaign will focus on raising money, earning media, mobilizing voters, building coalitions, and securing 60%+ support at the polls. 

The Youth Organizing Fellow reports to the Youth Organizing Manager of Yes on 4.

 

Campus Program Focuses:  Applicants with ties to the following campuses are heavily encouraged to apply: Florida State University, University of Florida, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, University of North Florida, University of Central Florida, Daytona State College, Bethune Cookman, University of South Florida, Hillsborough Community College, Polk Community College, Saint Pete Community College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Florida Memorial University, University of Miami, Miami Dade College, Valencia College and Edward Waters University

 

Job Description:

 

The Youth Organizing Fellow for the Yes on 4  is responsible for implementing localized grassroots organizing programs focused on youth voters. designed to support the campaign's goal of passing a constitutional amendment protecting the right to abortion in the state of Florida. The Youth Organizing fellow will work with the campaign’s Youth Organizing Manager to coordinate and mobilize young voters, raise awareness, and foster public support for the campaign on and off campus.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Meeting metrics goals for community events, voter contact, and public education.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with campus partner organizations on college campuses.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • You must attend the campus you are applying for a position at. History of campus organizing is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing a diverse team of volunteers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including public speaking, campaign messaging, and report writing.
  • Willingness to learn organizing and communication software, including CRM systems, digital organizing tools, and social media platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing campaign needs.

Compensation:

  • Hourly pay of $15/ Hour


 

Additional Requirements:

  • This is a part-time position between 15- 20 hours per week. The position is based in Florida and is remote, within the state. 
  • Must have personal transportation and be able to travel around Florida as needed.
  • Must be able to work on nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to hold this position through November 5th, 2024.
