About us:

Green Cars for Kids provides free transportation for low-income expectant mothers and children to healthcare visits using electric vehicles. We bring together the healthcare, energy, and transportation sectors to improve lives by breaking down inequitable transportation barriers. Because we use electric cars, we reduce carbon pollution that impacts the well-being of frontline communities most. Green Cars for Kids launched in Broward County, Florida the summer of 2023. In the first eleven months of service, our 1-car pilot program based in Broward County provided 2,403 trips to families who would have otherwise missed their healthcare appointments. On July 1st, we launched our service in Miami-Dade County driving high-risk pregnant women to prenatal appointments at Jackson Memorial Hospital. We are planning a program in the Glades community in western Palm Beach Counties to begin this fall.

Our vision is that every child and pregnant person reaches their full health potential unhampered by transportation barriers.
