Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant

Guthrie County Hospital has an opening for a full-time Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). This is a new position that will have the opportunity to work at both our Guthrie Center and Stuart Rehab locations. This role will work an average of 40 hours per week within the department hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, reporting to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
 

A Physical Therapist treats patients utilizing physical agent modalities, biomechanical and neurophysiological principles, and assistive devices to relieve pain, restore maximum function, and prevent disability following disease or injury.
 

Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapy Assistant uses physical treatment procedures to help improve mobility, strength, function and relieve pain and disability.

Qualifications for Physical Therapist:

· Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy

· Current Physical Therapy licensure in the State of Iowa

· Basic Life Support (BLS)

· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Qualifications for Physical Therapy Assistant:

· High School graduate or equivalent

· Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Iowa

· Basic Life Support (BLS)

· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
