Manager of Corporate Engagement

Project Bread connects people and communities in Massachusetts to reliable sources of food while advocating for policies that make food more accessible-so that no one goes hungry. To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread - The Walk for Hunger is seeking a Manager of Corporate Engagement to join our team.

Supervisor: Director of Foundation Relations

Starting Salary Range: $69,000-71,000

 

The Role: The Corporate Engagement Manager will work closely with the Director of Foundation Relations to plan and execute a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy to maximize corporate partnerships in support of Project Bread’s radical approach to ending hunger and engagement for the annual Walk for Hunger. This role will be responsible for identifying and conducting outreach to new corporate partners, stewarding existing relationships, and developing a tracking system for evaluating corporate stewardship and engagement opportunities. They will also be the champion for corporate teams participating in the Walk for Hunger, providing front line support to foster relationships and fundraise. 

 

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about our mission to hunger, loves to network and build new relationships, and is excited about developing and testing strategy to grow corporate engagement. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with a portfolio of key corporate stakeholders through the stewardship life cycle, from prospecting and proposal, to engagement and stewardship. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Foundation Relations to refine and advance a corporate partnership strategy, setting goals and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.
  • Develop and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, such as onsite lunch and learns, to educate staff about Project Bread’s mission and opportunities to support our work. 
  • Provide personalized frontline customer service and stewardship for Project Bread's corporate partners as part of the Walk for Hunger event, including prospecting event sponsors, supporting employee fundraising, coordinating logistics and communications leading up to the walk, and serving as day-of contact during the walk.  
  • Collaborate internally, especially with Communications, Policy, and Program teams, to ensure alignment of corporate engagement activities and ensure corporate partners receive proper acknowledgement. 
  • Use Raiser's Edge to track engagement efforts, including outreach, sponsorship submissions, recognition, scheduling, etc, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.

 

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Support the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff the weekend of the Walk (first weekend in May), and attending pre-Walk events as assigned.
  • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings.
  • Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Bread's positive, productive, and inclusive working environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of development experience, preferably with corporate or foundation funders, events, and/or donor prospecting.
  • Proven track record of building donor relationships, writing successful proposals, and securing sponsorships. Corporate experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills are required, including the ability to craft clear, structured, and persuasive proposals that synthesize a wide range of activities.
  • Ability to innovate, problem solve, and adapt when managing projects and building strategy. 
  • Highly adept at working with teams and collaborators both internally and externally at various levels within an organization.
  • Experience with fundraising software and databases; proficiency with Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud NXT is a plus.
  • Familiarity with issues of food insecurity, healthcare, nutrition, and social safety net programs are a plus.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Working Location: All employees are currently working a hybrid remote and in-office model and are expected to spend at least some time in the office each week. The Corporate Engagement Manager will need to be present in the East Boston office on a regular basis, typically Tuesdays and Thursdays.
