Project Summary 

The Marketing & Communications intern will support the Integrated Marketing Communications Team through: 

● Researching Minnesota’s media members 

● Assisting with writing for media alerts and marketing materials 

● Making website updates, including calendar events 

● Tracking media coverage of MNHS 

● Occasional on-site coordination of media interviews 

● Learning from seasoned marketing professionals

Ideal Degrees 

Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism

Responsibilities 

The Marketing & Communications intern will support the Integrated Marketing Department with promoting MNHS events, sites, and exhibits through assisting with writing and researching media releases, tracking media coverage, and coordinating with MNHS departments on promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and website updates.

Qualifications 

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of classroom experience in public relations, marketing, and/or journalism. They should possess basic understanding of marketing principles, but do not need extensive experience prior to this internship.

Knowledge Intern is Expected to Gain

The intern should expect to learn basics of public relations and marketing and get hands-on experience writing and researching for press releases, creating marketing materials, promoting through community calendars, and making website updates.

Additional Materials Required

Writing samples and transcripts will be accepted, but are not required.
