siParadigm Medical Sales Internship

Our year-long multidisciplinary internship program offers a dynamic introduction to the fast-paced world of medical sales, with a concentration in Oncology Diagnostic Sales specifically. This program is designed for individuals looking to kick-start their career in medical sales, providing extensive training and hands-on experience in a variety of different departments, including sales, marketing, customer support, and research and development. Interns will gain experience in multiple departments, helping them identify which area is most preferred. Upon completing the internship, individuals will have a year of valuable experience and will be considered for current openings within the company.

Program Structure

Comprehensive Product Knowledge. Gain an in-depth understanding of oncology diagnostic products, including their technology, application, and impact on patient outcomes.

 

Advanced Clinical Understanding. Comprehend in-depth concepts such as the clinical and pathological aspects of cancer, the difference between solid and liquid tumors, and germline vs somatic mutations. Learn how to engage with healthcare professionals in clinics and hospitals to discuss benefits and applications of products.

Medical Clinic Operations. Understand the complete sales cycle and logistics, from inventory management to order processing and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Territory Planning & Strategy. Work with Account Managers to identify new sales opportunities, understand competitive positioning, and develop strategies to increase market share.

Build Professional Development. Through department rotations, shadowing experiences, and mentorship, develop key competencies in communication, strategic thinking, and teamwork. 

Performance Feedback & Knowledge Checks. Regular assessments and feedback sessions to help refine skills and ensure alignments with industry standards and to make sure you are meeting expectations consistently throughout the internship.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required (science, business, or marketing degree preferred) 
  • Strong capacity and drive to develop a career
  • Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport at all levels within an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be driven and a self-motivated individual

Compensation and Benefits

  • Following successful completion of the internship, you will be considered for a position with siParadigm or will be provided with a letter of recommendation. 
  • No guaranteed job placement with siParadigm Diagnostic Informatics upon completion of the internship. 
  • $30k for a year ($2,500 per month) plus a $5,000 end of year performance bonus. 

     

Working Conditions

Hours of work

  • Interns should expect to work at least 5 hours a day. This requirement will vary throughout the different phases of the internship. 
  • Internship Term: 1 Year

Travel requirements

  • Must have a current and valid Driver's License. 
  • Travel is required in respective territory, with minimal to no overnight requirements. 
  • Training will include one week at our lab in NJ.
