NCcareers Content and Engagement Coordinator

The NCcareers Content and Engagement Coordinator is tasked with helping to coordinate and promote the NCcareers.org website and mobile app, directly aligning with LEAD’s objective of disseminating key economic indicators and employment statistics. This position is crucial in ensuring that the platform remains current, accurate, and user-friendly and reaches a widespread and diverse audience of career planners in need of information and direction.


This position will primarily focus on expanding the utilization of NCcareers.org through outreach, training, and content creation. Expected tasks include:

  • Conducting informational presentations to various users and stakeholders in adult and youth workforce development and all levels of education from middle school to university.
  • Leading NCcareers user trainings for career advisors, counselors, and educators
    Developing content such as webpages, videos, and career/education-related articles and lesson plans.
  • Growing and managing our social media presence.
  • Maintaining and growing relationships with partners and customers.
  • Working with our graphics department to create career-related publications and promotional materials.
  • Provide staff and meeting support to the NCcareers Governance Committee and Advisory Subcommittees.
  • Tracking and reporting user activity via Google Analytics and custom reports
  • Conducting customer experience research .

This will require an ability to translate labor market information and statistics into user-friendly digital content including updating job and educational data. The position is also expected to contribute creative ideas and solutions to the continuous improvement of NCcareers and the delivery of career information across North Carolina.

 

This position is housed in the Labor and Economic Analysis Division (LEAD) of the NC Department of Commerce and supports the economic, community, and workforce development of the state.  LEAD is the state's premiere resource to labor market, workforce, and economic data, analysis, and insights. This position will be located at 301 N Wilmington, St., Raleigh, NC. Depending on business need and job suitability, this position may be a candidate for telework, subject to management approval.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, challenges, and opportunities and initiate solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and/or managing social media or blog content.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software and interest and ability to grow to an advanced level.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned to the position from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
