genCLEO UM Intern

Job Title: genCLEO UM Intern

About CLEO:

The CLEO Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan organization exclusively
dedicated to climate change education, engagement, and advocacy. The science is settled, and 97% of climate scientists agree that human activity is driving a
climate crisis across the Earth. We know it’s happening, and we know why: carbon pollution from fossil fuels is warming our planet and throwing natural systems out of balance. You don’t have to look far to see the results: hotter temperatures, stronger storms, rising seas, and so much more threatening the health of our families and the future we pass on to generations to come.

That's why we must vote, make our voices heard, and organize! What better place to start than on your campus? As an intern, you will be provided with the training and resources to mobilize students on your campus around climate action!

Expected Responsibilities:

- As an intern, you will work directly under the campus organizers to get petitions on campus, organize events, educate students, manage volunteers, and help the administration to pass a real climate and sustainability commitment.

- Attend one weekly intern meeting scheduled based on everyone's availability during the semester, and the rest of the time you are expected to work whenever you are available.

- You’re not expected to have any experience, as CLEO staff and organizers will give you all the training, tools, and resources you need for any task you help with.

Training and skills you can expect to gain:

- GOTV organizing

- Public speaking

- Coalition building

- Interpreting complex policies

- Grassroots advocacy

- Meeting with elected officials

- Networking with like-minded students

- So much more!

Term: We are looking to hire campus interns to work through the Fall 2024 semester
Compensation and Hours: $300 semester stipend, 10 hours per week on average
