Composer & Sound Designer Intern

Games for Love is looking for a passionate Composer & Sound Designer to join our
mobile development team. You will work closely with artists, producers, designers, and
engineers to dream up enchanting audio that will bring the creatures, spells, weapons,
monsters, and environments of our game to life!


We are a highly collaborative, growth-minded, and thoughtful team looking for someone
who can communicate easily and effectively, work in an Agile environment, attend
weekly meetings, and donate 20+ hours per month in a remote ONLY environment.


Responsibilities:


● Collaborate with a development team of eight to achieve a shared vision
● Design, create, record, and edit sound assets for video games, including
creatures, spell/weapon effects, foley, and ambient
● Create original music, establishing a unique music fingerprint for our game
● Create audio assets in Wwise and implement them into Unity
● Consistently attend weekly meetings (Thursday, 12:30 pm Pacific Time)
● Organize and upload audio assets to Google Drive project folder
● Create and maintain sound design documents and sound asset spreadsheet
● Join our Games for Love community Discord server, and communicate with your
project team


Qualification:


● Experience in recording, editing, and designing sound assets for video games
● Sound design proficiency across several areas - including character movement,
monsters, magic effects, ambient environments
● Foundation in music composition, music theory, and creating original music
● Good organization and communication skills
● Proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Docs


Experience you will gain:


● Working knowledge of game engine editors via Unity
● Experience implementing game audio via Audiokinetic Wwise into Unity
● Working with version control and source code management tools via Plastic SCM
● Agile development experience as part of a SCRUM team
● Experience using project management tools via JIRA and Confluence
● Ability to work with a team, understanding of and appreciation for milestones,
schedules, deadlines, and efficient game development processes
