Role and Responsibilities

Grow sales/revenue by prospecting for new clients and nurturing existing customer relationships. Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing customers through correspondence and face to face contact to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide ongoing support and serve as a primary point of contact for our customers.  Coordinate with all other Sho-Me departments to meet customer’s needs.
  • Meet with potential customers to present solutions, develop proposals, initiate sales closures and acquire the account.
  • Coordinate with FIG to develop technical solutions for customers.  Coordinate with FIG when necessary to determine cost to serve new locations.      Develop pricing to present to the customer. 
  • Negotiate with customers during the quotation and contract phase of the project to arrive at a solution that is both satisfactory for the customer and Sho-Me Technologies.
  • Network with other telecommunication providers to develop and cultivate working relationships in order to enhance the services and territories of Sho-Me Technologies.
  • Present to various organizations/potential clients to advertise and market Sho-Me services.  Attend telecom conferences, trade shows, and industry events to gain leads, increase contacts, get creative advertising ideas, and network with others in the industry.
  • Support community outreach and economic development efforts with member cooperatives, municipalities, schools and others to market fiber optic services in their territories.
  • Provide feedback to management about marketplace and competitor activity.
  • Assist with all customer service functions as needed.
  • Stay well-informed of industry developments to provide customers with best possible solution and to stay competitive in our market.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or communications related field or prior telecom sales experience.  Must have ability to function in highly competitive telecommunications market, work in team environment, and have great interpersonal and communication skills. Broad knowledge of telecommunications and fiber-optic technology required.
