PROGRAMMER ANALYST, SENIOR

Estimated Hiring Range: $60,107.42- $70,560.88 Based on Experience

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES 

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the development and support of application systems design, problem determination, program design, coding programs, and related activities. Reports to the IT Project Manager A. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Responsible for performing full life cycle development of complex applications to include analysis, program design, coding, testing and documentation of computer programs; writes routine to complex programs in authorized programming languages to meet specifications; formulates and defines the system scope and objectives for assigned projects. Analyzes and evaluates existing application systems for problem determination, isolation and resolution as well as to make recommendations for changes and enhancements as needed. 

Designs and prepares production job streams, file structures, data formats and on-line forms. Develops detailed instructions and technical documentation including system, operator and user manuals. 

Assists in training of end-users.  Analyzes non-computerized operations to makes recommendations for automated processes. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Requires any combination of education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science or related field and 3-5 years of programming experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

Acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Requires the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. 

• Some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). 

• Tasks may involve extended periods of time at keyboard or work station. 

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

• Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. 

• Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. 

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES 

Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
