Executive Assistant

Job Description: Executive assistants play a critical role in supporting the effectiveness and productivity of the Chief Executive Officer by handling administrative tasks, managing communication and schedules, and providing essential support in various aspects of their work. They serve as trusted partners and advisors, enabling the executive to focus on their core responsibilities and strategic priorities. We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant and Social Media Coordinator. In this position, you will provide high-level administrative support to our executives while also managing our organization's social media presence. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent communication and multitasking skills. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Executive Support:
    • Manage executive directors’ calendars, scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
    • Support with incoming emails, calls, and correspondence, prioritizing and responding to inquiries as needed.
    • Assist with document preparation, including drafting emails, reports, and presentations.
    • Coordinate meetings and events, including logistics, agendas, and materials preparation.
    • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  2. Social Media Management:
    • Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance our organization's online presence and engagement.
    • Create and curate content for social media platforms, including posts, updates, and visuals.
    • Schedule and publish social media posts using management tools, ensuring consistent and timely posting.
    • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, responding promptly and appropriately.
    • Track and analyze social media metrics to evaluate performance and inform future strategies.
  3. Content Creation:
    • Generate creative content ideas and themes aligned with our organization's goals and target audience.
    • Write compelling copy for social media posts, blog articles, and other marketing materials.
    • Design graphics, visuals, and multimedia content to accompany social media posts and campaigns.
  4. Community Engagement:
    • Engage with followers, fans, and stakeholders on social media platforms, fostering positive relationships and interactions.
    • Identify and engage with influencers, partners, and relevant communities to expand our reach and visibility.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform social media strategies and content creation.
  5. Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, grant writers, partners, donors, and other executives.
  6. Informational Management
    • Research and gather information on behalf of the executive director, compiling data, conducting analysis, and preparing reports or summaries for decision-making purposes
  7. Student Recruitment
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to support student recruitment efforts through multiple channels.
    • Create engaging content and campaigns to attract prospective families
    • Support efforts related to student recruitment and provide feedback and insights to the leadership team

Qualifications:

  • Reside near Durham, North Carolina (or willing to commute)
  • Bachelor's degree or currently majoring in communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience providing executive support and managing social media accounts for organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Creative thinking, organization skills, radical integrity, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment: 

  • Part-Time, approximately 10 hours per week, Monday through Thursday (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as needed)
  • As needed, support with in-person student learning experiences and trips (Weekends, bi-monthly)

 

Preferred Start Date: July 1, 2024 

 

Location: This role is 100% remote, with some travel, as needed.  Executive assistants must reside in or near Durham, North Carolina and be willing to commute.

Compensation: 

  • This is a 1099 contract position
  • $15 per hour
