Social Media Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY 

The EmPower marketing organization is going through an unprecedented transformation to build an enduring and sustainable brand, while being a growth driver for the company. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for promoting the EmPower Solar brand, growing the company’s social media reach, and reaching qualified new customers through powerful storytelling and creative content. The Social Media Specialist will report to the Marketing Manager and CMO and work collaboratively with other departments.

The Social Media Specialist will help ensure that EmPower Solar remains the regional leader in our category while helping marketing become a predictable growth engine for the company. 

DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Social Media Specialist will have ownership over holistically managing EmPower Solar’s social media program.
 

  • Planning + strategy: develop and manage a social media content calendar including organic posts and paid campaigns; collaborate with the marketing team to align social media content with overall marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Paid ad management: plan and create paid social media ad campaigns across relevant platforms; manage creative, campaign objectives, budgets, and schedules; continuously monitor to optimize campaign performance.
  • Content creation: ideate, create, and edit high-quality, visually appealing videos, photos, and graphics for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and TikTok with captivating captions and relevant hashtags; monitor trends and experiment with new content types to ensure that our brand is top of mind for those considering solar + batteries.
  • Community management: build meaningful connections with industry professionals, influencers, existing customers, and potential customers via social media; actively monitor and engage with comments and messages to nurture our audience.
  • Lead generation: meet minimum quantity of leads monthly to support sales channels.
  • Reporting and analysis: define, measure, and report upon KPIs; leverage insights to guide content strategies to enhance engagement, audience growth, and lead generation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS 

Candidate should be dependable, creative, and a plan-driven problem solver. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic with the ability to adapt to changes in market conditions and trends.

Candidate must have: 

  • 3+ years experience in the social media/digital content space. 
  • Proven experience creating high-quality social media content.
  • Expertise in navigating social media business applications (ex. Meta Business Suite).
  • A deep understanding of social media metrics.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent digital media editing tools. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS 

The ideal candidate should also: 

  • Hold a bachelor’s in marketing or have relevant work experience in the field.
  • Have basic knowledge of solar, renewable energy, sustainability, etc.
  • Have experience working in a small business environment.
  • Be capable of working on a team as well as operating independently with confidence. 

HOURS, COMPENSATION + BENEFITS 

This is a full-time position. Candidate must be able to commit extra hours when necessary for events, time-sensitive tasks, etc. The typical day is 8-9 work hours with a break for lunch, starting by 9:00 am.

Employee shall be salaried and receive quarterly structured performance-based bonuses for an annual compensation range of $65-80k, commensurate with experience. Salary will be increased with time in service and strong performance. Additionally, employee will be eligible for structured performance-based bonuses after three months of employment.
