Communications Specialist II
The University of Nebraska seeks a skilled storyteller and communicator to lead, plan, and execute communication activities for the Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance and play a critical role in the larger mission and outreach of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR).
As a Communications Specialist II, you will:
- Independently develop and execute a communications strategy to raise the profile and highlight the impact of the Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance, working in collaboration with supervisor and IANR Communications.
- Conceive, produce, and promote content highlighting impactful programs and projects related to Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance; content may include written stories, web content, social media posts, brochures, fliers, videos, etc.
- Develop a communications strategy to ensure the most important stories are being told and use analytics to measure the reach.
- Work with supervisor and IANR communications team to determine key messages and audiences.
- Grow and manage social media accounts; develop web content and make updates; promote events; and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field plus three years of public information, public relations, or journalism experience required. Additional years of relevant education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Experience writing for the web and social media.
- Ability to independently plan, develop, manage, and implement communication initiatives and activities.
- Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Experience must demonstrate excellent content creation skills.
- Experience must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and time-management skills.
