Special Events & Fundraising Coordinator

MitoAction is seeking an experienced and dynamic Special Events & Fundraising Coordinator to lead our fundraising efforts and oversee the planning and execution of events. The Special Events & Fundraising Coordinator will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to grow existing and execute new fundraising events. This position will also support donor cultivation activities.  This role requires a strategic thinker, a talented communicator, and an experienced event-planner with strong project management skills who can inspire others to support our cause.


Key Responsibilities:

        Special Event Planning and Execution:

  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, galas, and donor recognition activities, including SKR Derby Day and all Energy Walk locations
  • Coordinate event logistics, including vendor relationships, venue selection, and attendee engagement
  • Secure sponsors for fundraising events with a focus on new partnerships
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support fundraising events
  • Manage special event program budgets
  • Ensure events meet or exceed fundraising goals and enhance donor relationships
     

        Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  • In coordination with the CEO, create and distribute all donor acknowledgments
  • Assist in the execution and planning of the Giving Tuesday Campaign
  • Assist in the execution and planning of Year-End Giving, including annual donor Thank You campaign
     

        Data Management and Analysis:

  • Assist in the management of donor data to ensure accurate donor records.
  • Analyze fundraising and event data to assess performance and make data-driven decisions

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years of fundraising and event planning experience, with a proven track record in project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with donor management software and event planning tools
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of volunteers
  • Passion for the mission of MitoAction and a strong commitment to improving the lives of individuals affected by mitochondrial disease

    Prefer candidate in Boston or New England area.
