Assistant or Associate Director Operations Data Analysis and Reporting

POSITION SUMMARY

Do you have a strong background in data analytics and project management? Grinnell College is looking for you. The Assistant (or Associate) Director of Operations for Data, Analysis, and Reporting is responsible for the macro-level management and duties of donor prospect development, in order to maximize philanthropic results and efficiency in the development process. This position is also responsible for the analysis and reporting of fundraising and engagement priorities, which strategically informs and supports the business planning efforts of the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DAR). The successful candidate will possess advanced statistical analysis skills in data mining and manipulation, and an ability to use software to visualize, represent, and communicate complex information with program teams and leaders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect research:
    • Identifies and coordinates strategic and data driven initiatives
    • Provides project and data management
    • Understanding and building predictive models
    • Design and analyzes gift tables and pyramids
    • Business intelligence and quantitative decision support
  • Prospect Management
    • Assists leadership in coordinating activity to maximize results and efficiency
    • Architect a computerized database solution to track relationship moves and manage prospects, proposals and donors
    • Develop and maintain the support of this tracking system
    • Creates dashboards and reports to measure and analyze data
    • Identify data management solutions
  • Develop functional and technical specifications for giving and engagement metrics
  • Provides ad hoc data analysis
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • 5 years or more experience Associate Level
  • 3 years or more experience Assistant Level
  • Champion Diversity Equity and Inclusion
  • Strong communication skills in a variety of ways for multiple constituents
  • Adaptable to changing situations and circumstances while maintaining a professional work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills
  • Served on teams that have successfully completed comprehensive fundraising campaigns
  • Knowledge of best practices in gifts processing and management
  • Computer programming, Business Analytics and Visualization, CRM Experience, or Prospect Management and Research
