Summer Writing and Editing Internship

SUMMER WRITING AND EDITING INTERNSHIP FOR JEWISH FEDERATIONS OF NORTH AMERICA (JFNA) 

The DC office of the Jewish Federations of North America is seeking a summer writing and editing intern in the Communications Department. The position is a maximum of 20 hours a week ($15/hour) for twelve weeks (mid-May to mid-August). 

The successful candidate will be a talented writer and a meticulous proofreader.  Duties will include writing and editing press releases and backgrounders, drafting op-eds and other articles for mainstream and Jewish media, interviewing, composing talking points for speeches, and doing occasional social media posts. There will also be opportunities to work with our marketing team and also with our public policy team to advance the priorities of the Jewish community on safety and security, care for Holocaust survivors, and other issues. 

Familiarity with the institutions and structures of the organized Jewish community in North America is a plus, as is a basic knowledge of Jewish history, customs, rituals, holidays, etc. 

Position is remote.
