Intern- Human Resources

Occupational Summary:

Under close supervision, the HR intern will work in the Human Resources department and be involved in numerous ongoing HR functional initiatives, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, leadership development, compensation and communications. You will have the opportunity to participate as a valuable member of the team by working directly with assigned mentors to complete assigned projects, assist HR Business Partners and other members of the HR department.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

A) Participate in recruiting and talent acquisition to include:
• Improving social media related candidate sourcing, university relations activities and staffing.
• Assist with employee life cycle experience including onboarding, Orientation and off-boarding.
B) Assist with KPI and metrics tracking and reporting.
C) Organize information and prepare presentations.
D) Attend meetings related to the project or department
E) Assist on special projects and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:


A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ii) Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel and PowerPoint
iii) Highly collaborative with a demonstrated track record of success in a team environment

B) Education and Experience:
i) Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Human Resources OR related field of study as a junior or senior level student.

C) Competencies:

Acts in accordance with company values and related competencies.

D) Communication Skills:

Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

E) Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve problems and think strategically.
