The Iron County School District is seeking a Human Resources Administrative Coordinator.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Human Resources; assists with the planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing of the daily operations of the human resources department; provides direct support for human resources executive director; assists with providing information to employees regarding policies, procedures and regulations; address a variety of issues and/or provides general employee support; assists in ensuring personnel functions; conform to appropriate regulatory requirements; screen applicant information for minimum qualifications. Assists with all personnel functions including staffing, hiring, policy administration, leave, FMLA and record keeping for all certified and classified staff. Participates in special projects as requested and provides backup support when needed.

Supports with the employment process (e.g. writing/editing job descriptions, advertise positions, post with a variety of recruiting agencies, schedule district vacancy interviews, etc.) to meet district staffing requirements in compliance with established guidelines;

Maintains online applicant system by creating authorized job postings.

Supports in all Human Resources functions including licensing, Leave, onboarding, and coordinating efforts to complete criminal background checks -  (e.g. arranging and following up on fingerprinting and other reports, maintaining a separate confidential file of all data gathered). 

Maintains up to date and accurate manual and electronic documents, files and records (e.g. employee contracts, vacancy listings, new hires, employee data bases/change/status, etc.).

Contact new employees in relation to onboarding and payroll information and inform applicants of job duties and responsibilities, work schedules, availability, working conditions, policies, and other information. 

Audits for compliance with ICSD selection policy and procedures. Offers jobs in accordance with ICSD policies and procedures.

Assists employees and applicants in completing personnel documents to include; I-9, W-4, work agreements, and contracts. Reviews and audits documents for accuracy.

Updates computerized tracking systems, payroll systems, and personnel data systems with employee information. Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses. 

Files applicable information according to the personnel filing system. Completes personnel actions and records for use in payroll processing.

Communicate with employees, departments, administrators, Utah State Office of Education and other agencies, applicants and the public to provide information and assistance concerning recruitment, employment, personnel records/issues, professional staff cost factors, and related legal requirements. 

Supports in receiving, reviewing and processing requests for transfers. 

Interpret contract language, education code and employment regulations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to personnel and assigned activities.

Reports and tracks employee New Hire Orientation attendance and Participation in New Teacher Support Program. 

Assists and instructs New Hire Orientation class. 

Assists with preparing online training of Human resources information including, policies, benefits and retirement.

Processes all terminations in the HR system

Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports. 

Answers telephone to provide information, takes messages, or transfer calls. 

Screens incoming calls and correspondence and responds independently when possible. 

Greets scheduled visitors and directs to the appropriate area or person. 

Organizes and maintains file systems, and files correspondence and other records. 

Acts as custodian of documents and records. 

Complies with established Human Resources Department procedures.

Participates in special projects as requested and provides backup support when needed.

  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required 
  • ?Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently.  Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
