HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (INFORMATION SYSTEMS) (OA)

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Human Resources Operations Division. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will process and document HR actions for a wide variety of agencies/bureaus and employee categories that involve different forms, different authorities and regulatory bases, different action codes, and different pay systems.

Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-08. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

Receives paper or electronic SF 52s, Requests for Personnel Action, and supporting documentation for competitive and non-competitive actions, accessions, separations, etc.
Independently resolves questions, corrects information, researches issues from a wide variety of resource materials and provides guidance to management on regulations, bargaining unit restrictions, and policy relating to the action (e.g., legal authority, time limits, etc.).
Independently requests information from other agencies, and researches proper nature of action, legal authority, Veterans preference, retirement code, position information, etc.
Assists functional users on HR systems.
