Public Health Intern

Intern Role: Strategic Healthcare Analyst Intern

The intern will support our Strategic Services team by assisting in performing Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA), Community Needs Assessments, and strategic planning for our clients. This role offers valuable real-world experience in healthcare consulting and analytics, providing a strong foundation for future career opportunities in the field.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and team members to gather both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Conduct thorough research and synthesize large datasets into actionable insights for client reports.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of reports and presentations.
  • Participate in client meetings and conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gain familiarity with relevant regulations such as IRS 501(r)(3) guidelines, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback statutes.
  • Support research tasks focused on physician supply and demand analyses.
  • Maintain organized documentation and project files.
  • Engage in routine office tasks to support the delivery of work products.
  • Strive for excellence in project deliverables with a focus on perfect and timely execution.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A strong interest in improving the operational performance of healthcare organizations.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a rapid learning curve.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with GIS/Mapping and Business Informatics tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with population health or epidemiological data is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective team player and self-starter with a proactive, positive attitude.
