Human Resource Generalist

ARTIMUS CONSTRUCTION SEEKS A HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a HR Generalist position.  This role will provide hands-on experience in a wide range of human resource functions such as training, performance management, recruitment, policy interpretation and administration, employee relations, HR compliance and other duties.   Applicants with a strong desire to build a human resource career are especially encouraged to respond.

This position is fully in the office.  Salary range is $60,000 plus bonus opportunity.  Actual compensation within this range is dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.  Must have Permanent US Work Authorization. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Execute all phases of the employment process, including developing and posting job opportunities, reviewing resumes, conducting initial interviews, assisting managers in hiring decisions, extending job offers, and performing background checks and drug tests
  2. Conduct new hire orientation and review of company policies and procedures
  3. Preparation of payroll for weekly submission
  4. Maintain the open enrollment benefit calendar for newly hired employees.  Assist HR Director in negotiating benefits for upcoming plan year and conducting open enrollment meetings
  5. Plan annual company-wide team-building event and other employee yearly outings
  6. Manage disability requests and unemployment claims and work with office manager on handling workers compensation claims
  7. Assist in delivery and development of employee training in areas of orientation, compliance, new manager, performance review and progressive discipline training
  8. Coordinate performance management process for company, including reviewing performance management evaluations
  9. Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to supervisors and managers, including coaching, performance improvement plans, and progressive discipline
  10. Conduct complex employee relations investigations as needed
  11. Address and resolve employee complaints and work with managers on issues such as progressive discipline and/or termination or other employee matters

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Degree required in Human Resources or relevant area of study.  Master’s or PHR certification a plus
  2. High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  3. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels of the organization
  4. Strong analytical and reasoning skills
  5. Knowledge of Paycor payroll a plus
  6. Knowledge of Federal, State and NYC employment law
  7. Highly developed organizational skills that support planning and execution of duties
