Senior Web & Digital Media Specialist

We are in search of a tech-savvy and innovative professional to take the lead on our digital initiatives, including customer-facing websites and web applications with a primary focus on enhancing our online presence and increased engagement among customers, employees, and the wider community. As a senior digital media strategist at OUC, you will shoulder the responsibility of crafting, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive strategies to elevate OUC's digital presence both internally and externally while aligning with brand guidelines and technical requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their design skills, proficiency in using content management systems, and experience with responsive design principles.

 

As a vital team member, you'll be responsible for the development of digital communication and marketing campaigns, alongside the execution of web- and digital-based initiatives to reinforce our online footprint. Leveraging your expertise, you will collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and IT leaders to drive integrated media campaigns and manage various web and digital media projects. Additionally, you will conduct research and usability testing to continuously improve website performance and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of graphic/web design, digital marketing, marketing, communications, and/or desktop publishing, to include:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of WordPress, Drupal, and UX design principles, with the ability to create and manage websites, navigate content management systems, and write and test in various environments
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Experience with email automaton, CRM, and Enterprise Marketing Automation platform (such as Salesforce, SharpSpring, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, data analytics, and digital media trends
  • Skilled in digital video editing software for multimedia content creation and editing
  • Proactive and creative approach with a strong initiative to drive innovative digital initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders, handle multiple competing priorities and projects, and collaborate within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary Range: $88,000 - $110,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Job Purpose:    

Designs, develops, implements and maintains comprehensive strategies to promote OUC's internal and external digital presence through compelling content creation and deployment support to increase stakeholder education and engagement for customers, employees and the community. Develops traditional and digital communications campaigns by creating graphics, content and materials, and implementing web- and digital-based initiatives.

Primary Functions:       

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications leaders and teams to implement various strategies for integrated media campaigns;
  • Manage and coordinate web and digital media projects;
  • Conduct research to support identification and development of marketing content into multi-touch, multi-channel plans, including paid search, display advertising, email advertising, PR and social media;
  • Assist in development and implementation of digital-based initiatives (i.e. online promotional campaigns, e-newsletters, digital media devices, digital video, OUC360 and OUC360-TV, and interactive elements-polls, games, etc.) as needed;
  • Manage all OUC domains, including DNS and microsites
  • Create, maintain, and update high quality content for OUC's internal and external websites, and other digital platforms using AP style including graphics, images, forms, stories, news releases marketing and promotional campaigns (i.e. TV spots, online and animated ads, digital ads, bill inserts, infographics, etc.).
  • Create digital graphics, elements, logos, templates, web pages, layouts and custom pages for external and internal communications, ensuring brand consistency across all content;
  • Collaborate with IT and/or vendors to troubleshoot system issues, review security reports, and resolve problems;
  • Create external emails and content to support communication, marketing & additional cross- functional teams, providing backup support for all teams as needed;
  • Create and manage tags and assist with writing content for search engine optimization (SEO);
  • Develop graphics and designs for marketing, advertising, and presentations;
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital media channels;
  • Write frontend and backend code on CMS/servers and support web deployments as needed;
  • Support server and database team as needed (load balancing, database caching, patches, maintenance, fixes, etc.);
  • Produce graphic assets including taking photographs at events and meetings;
  • Assist with development of architecture and user stories for web experiences;
  • Perform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages and banners;
  • Review and implement change requests from internal customers;
  • Develop and deploy data analytic and metrics reports on ROI, KPIs and Google Analytics, and provide insights;
  • Suggest and implement direct marketing methods to provide lead generation;
  • Recommend improvements and solutions to enhance user experience and to optimize site navigation and product page templates based on site metrics and industry best practices; Monitor website health, handle upgrades to CMS accessibility;
  • Coach, mentor and guide entry and intermediate-level employees;
  • Review and renew contracts, POs & RFPs as needed;
  • Coordinate vendor/consultant onboarding, creating training documentation as needed;
  • Dedicated off-hours support for web assignments;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator);
    • WordPress, Drupal;
    • UX Design (journey mapping and site creation); or (monitoring user experience and ensuring that websites, software programs and products are easy to use);
    • Graphic design and desktop publishing software;
    • Digital video editing software;
    • Digital media trends and innovations;
    • Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager & Campaign;
    • Data analytics and data attributes;
    • Project management and coordination;
  • Familiarity with all, but not limited to, the following:
    • Software Applications (i.e. PSERM, CC&B, AutoCAD, Web-editing, WordPress, Drupal, CWMS);
    • Content management systems and ability to write and test in all environments (DEV, UAT, TST, PROD);
    • Wireframing tools/software;
    • Internet coding (i.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .ASP net coding) and server environments;
    • Online forms, including summarization of results collected in databases;
    • Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices and procedures; legal guidelines, ordinances, and laws;
  • Ability to:
    • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally;
    • Work within a team atmosphere;
    • Be creative, proactive and take initiative while handling multiple projects and deadlines;
    • Exhibit strong project management and organizational skills;
    • Show good judgment and flexibility;
    • Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, rates, ratios and percentages;
    • Understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records;
    • Use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.) and standard office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, etc.).

Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or related field of study from an accredited college or university;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in graphic/web design, digital marketing, marketing, communications, and/or desktop publishing, to include:
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing or coordinating projects;

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:
